Following the first service with Bro. Underwood at Sister Berry's, later services were held at a sawmill camphouse provided by the Thomas Brothers Sawmill. Services were then held in the home of some of the people, including Emma Fallin, Alvin Francis, Riley Jester, and others. Brush arbor revivals were conducted and in one, at Curtis junction, near the present site of R. H. Herron's Grocery, the Curtis Assembly of God Church was set in order on August 13, 1932. Bro. Underwood was elected pastor and Ella Howard, secretary and treasurer. Deacons were Bro. J. H. Rogers and Arlie McAnally. Nineteen charter members were listed: W. A. Howard, J. H. Rogers, E. B. Rutherford, Robert Rogers, Leona Rogers, Essie Hughes, Marylou Howard, Glaydon Rogers, Stella Rogers, Ella Howard, Emma Falin, Saline Berry, Arlie McAnally, Lula Mae McAnally, Rufus Rogers, Bessie Craig, Lessie Rutherford, Henry Walker, and Eula Walker.
